Steels

Heat Resistant CrMoV & NiCrMoV Steel Grades

Steels are often required to be heat-resisitant, especially for use in thermal power plants or in other applications where they are expected to perform / operate under elevated temperatures.

(Ni)CrMoV steels, also sometimes reffered to as Chrome-Moly-Vanadium or Low Alloy Steels, are used in such applications. These are not ‘stainless’ due to their lack of chromium content but posses excellent heat-resistant qualities and moreover also typically contain vanadium, nickel and tungsten providing relatively high yield and tensile strengths. CrMoV steels are characterized by good strength and plastic properties in the range of (steam) temperature up to 560°C.
